App developers don’t understand gossip! When a lawsuit is filed you can find all of the specific claims. This is gold.

Some of the accusations against Sebastian de With:

Using the corporate credit card to spend $30-75K on personal expenses such as…

- Booking personal airfare and accruing airline status, including a “babymoon” to French Polynesia, marriage proposal in Hawaii, and global travel to retrieve motorcycles.
- Booking multi-week hotel stays near where he lives in San Jose.
- Hiring a contractor to redesign his personal website (😱).
- Buying shoes.

He is also accused of convincing the company to rent a $5,400/mo office in Santa Cruz, where he used 90% of the space for personal purposes. There was a bedroom, large amounts of alcohol, a filing cabinet containing condoms and hallucinogenic drugs, and his motorcycle. He registered his own personal business to the address and did no company work from there.

During the investigation he is accused of consistently lying, as well as tampering with and destroying evidence.

Finally, and worst of all, he kept the company’s Apple Design Award.

I have to be honest: I was always envious of the life Sebastiaan appeared to lead. Now even moreso.

@kyle The filing cabinet condoms seem pretty attainable
@kyle Makes you wonder why they sticked together so long. Don’t know them but now I heard weird stuff about both of them.
@obrhoff ooh what about the other guy
@kyle dick heads energy
@kyle This exchange certainly put a bad taste in my mouth, but charging a $124,000 bat lair to the company card is something else https://mastodon.social/@sandofsky/114830154979973017
@hal he was under a lot of stress trying to balance the budget (impossible)
@kyle but he used Halide on all those trips so…usability studies?
@kyle this is wild stuff lmao (thank you for sharing the actual complaint, unlike seemingly every media report *glares*, and saving me the trouble of digging it up myself)
@shadowfacts Right? "Apple wanted to buy Lux Optics"—boring. "babymoon"—come to papa.
