@kline my computer (and hopefully then keyboard) is grounded to the mains ground, maybe i should just stick a wire from the chalkboard all the way to the mains socket
@pounce to be honest if you have a big isolated sheet then it makes sense that when you keep rubbing it clean it develops a charge. A socket earth or cold water pipe would sort you out.
