used these pics to advertise their services, if they even exist in the first place.
@MisterHW I think this happens becase they tell someone to make a webpage and then just abandon them, even when they ask for media or to have the content verified. Then when the site is done they just post it, with all the placeholder media and everything.
"yes we have a great webpage, we just paid someone a piffle amount to make it!"
@RueNahcMohr possible, but just as awful as putting together a website and not watermarking the images with [REPLACE THIS] or [PLACEHOLDER].
A good way to frame this is to call it technical debt, just like in SW development.
