My day: tech support for family member who changed phones and hadn't logged into their Windows personal laptop for weeks.

When they turned on the laptop, they were greeted with the lovely Bitlocker recovery screen.

I spent more time than I wanted listening to their frustration as they logged into their Microsoft account on a different device, checked their email, checked texts on their new phone, and finally found their Bitlocker recovery key.

@redcrew I feel your pain! I wish Microsoft would rethink automatically enabling Bitlocker for home users by default. Sure, it makes their data more secure but for many people, it creates more problems than it solves.

@alpuzz Sorry you had a similar experience, Al. And yes, Microsoft needs to reconsider enabling Bitlocker by default. What a mess!

How are you doing?

@redcrew Doing well. Getting excited for Spring!
@alpuzz Detroit Tigers baseball got you excited?
@redcrew It does! It'll be fun to have Verlander back.
@alpuzz I wondered what you thought of him returning to the Tigers.
