@sysop408 Sy has been declining and can no longer write. Last October they published a story he had written years before. I got to listen to him speak at the Unitarian Church in San Francisco around '07. It was a great time.
I struggle to keep up with the magazines but whenever I finish an issue cover-to-cover I feel like I've done something worthwhile. I then find somewhere in the world to leave my copy instead of recycling it. The hope is that someone else might discover the wonder.
@dannyman do you know how old he is now? I was surprised enough to learn that he was still alive, much less involved with the magazine in any way (even if nominally).
I first read a few of my favorite authors from excerpts originally published in The Sun, but I don't think I've had a subscription since sometime in the early aughts.
I'm trying to remember how I even first discovered the magazine. My best guess would be that it was carried in the magazine selection of A Clean Well Lighted Place for Books in Cupertino when it was still there.
