My understanding, and this is a lot of rumor and he said / she said, so, grain of salt:
They genuinely had to lay people off and cut hours to cut costs, after tariff bullshit caused coffee bean prices to spike. Sad, but understandable.
But also, there had been vocal complaints among some employees about sexual harassment from one of the managers.
And guess which employees got fired?
But there's nowhere else like the Goat, unfortunately.

@FeloniousPunk There's still great people who work there. It's still an amazing space. I don't think our town has another anarchist coffee shop. (Dark Pine, maybe?) I just don't trust the management there anymore.
