I’ve been going to this very McDonald’s my entire 49 years (or at least as long I’ve eaten solid food). Had my 7th birthday party here. The interior used to be fun and on brand, now it feels empty and soulless.
@lonseidman Part of it I think is they're not allowed to advertise/cater obesity to children, so colorful mascots are out, etc. then you have fast-casual boom - every place needs to look like Chipotle. And the real-estate angle, it's much easier to sell a building after it closes if it doesn't look distinctly like a very specific property that the next company will have to massively reconstruct.
@lonseidman It's minimalist so they can easily sweep away the drunk people that collapse in the evenings. It's really not a place people want to eat inside of anymore... It could be that I'm in a big city, but most of our McDonald's are in spots where I wouldn't want to take my child on foot.
@lonseidman Ha ha ha, that MD Looks like a Starbucks furnished by IKEA. My local MD Remodeled 3 years ago. No more play area for kids. The new priority is the drive thru with 2 lanes. Inside sitting space was halved and now somewhat soulless like yours. If I want that old school McDonald's vibe, I go to In-Out Burger. Tastes better too.
