I am honestly a bit disappointed that so many people are jumping instances against (so far as we know) unproven allegations re: @chad.

100% this isn't a great look and is worrying. 🤔

We should be concerned and informed, but the state of the instance hasn't even happened yet.

People are free to move their accounts whenever they feel most comfortable and they should.

Buuuut, y'all I figured we respected the process of the law and facts for what they are determined to be, not speculation on a pre determined outcome based on an allegation that hasnt even been investigated yet. 🧐

Anyways you do you, but I'll be waiting for the facts.

This is not intended to be a shady post - the instance owes you nothing - but people deserve due process.

@javensbukan @chad I pretty much just cleaned up a stale account. I hadn’t posted or read on there in months. For other reasons.
This reminded me though that I wanted to switch from mastodon.social to a Canadian instance again and finally did it. Thanks to @mike for taking me on!

@javensbukan I think a lot of the moves are people who were on the fence about moving already and I think it’s also reasonable to be concerned about the future of the instance. I know I’ve been considering moving to a smaller Canadian instance for awhile but I’m a creature of habit. The current situation is complex and difficult so I don’t blame anyone for deciding to move.
