Today I find that #FP4Party has started over on bsky, so I'm unloading an unstarted roll of #IlfordHP5 and loading my Pentax MX with #IlfordFP4 !

Trying to find a way to participate from here, but at the moment looks like I'll (also) have to post over there.

Key dates:

20th - 29th March: Picture taking
30th - 12th April: Process & scan
13th - 19th April: Picture sharing

Only on bsky sadly.😒 [but no! See reply]

Looks like I was wrong, it _may_ be possible to participate in #FP4Party from here. You'd have to be bridged to bsky (search for and follow @bsky.brid.gy, accept its follow back), use the hashtags and remember to keep the character count down to 300 including hashtags. See also https://bsky.app/profile/paulasmith.co.uk/post/3mhi2t66gps2g (I hope)

I'm also trying to persuade the other end of this to work!

Bluesky Social

Also, we can run our very own #Fp4Party right here in the Fediverse if we want. Probably the folks on bsky wouldn't see it, but that's OK. Anyone up for it?

Take pictures on #IlfordFP4 this week, dev/scan the next, share after that! Simples.

EDIT:
20th - 29th March: Picture taking

Well this is a bummer! I thought I should take my Fuji GS645S out for #FP4Party, but it turns out I have no FP4 in 120! Plenty of HP5, Tri-X and Kentmere, no FP4. :-( #BelieveInFilm
@carusb I'm in!
@tomnorthfilm @thereisnocat I'm 3/4 through the first roll already. I really like it when light, lens, film and mood combine into a flow!

@carusb I’ll make an effort to contribute. I’m currently building a roof terrace kitchen in my spare time, so I’m rather busy! I’m trying to get it done before the temperatures go stratospheric.

FP4 is one of my favourite films so I’m all for #fp4party Which week is officially designated for taking photos? Last week or this week? TBH I’ll probably rush things through in the last minute.

@tapasinthesun

I reckon you could get through a roll or so of FP4, no probs!

20th - 29th March: Picture taking
30th - 12th April: Process & scan
13th - 19th April: Picture sharing

@carusb @tapasinthesun I just finished up a roll of FP4 in my Bessa 6x9. With only 8 frames a roll it doesn't take long. The last two shots were 1s exposures in an interior space. If either turns out it'll be a miracle. Thankfully, the self time on my 1937 vintage Bessa still works. I was able to set it up on a table and take the shot.
@carusb I will post my FP4 Party photos here too.
@carusb I’ve shot very little FP4 but it’s getting warm and sunny in my part of the world, so maybe I can make something happen this week…I do have some in the fridge…
@kaiser_franz @carusb how does FP4 do when pushed a stop or two? I’ve got a roll but I’m worried I’ll underexpose given all the rain in nyc this week (still new to film so I also want to give myself some leeway)
@knees @carusb I’ve never pushed it, but I see a few people online saying they’ve pushed it to 400 with good results (increased contrast but still-in-control grain) with XTOL. It’s certainly not a film I would choose for that purpose, but if it’s what you’ve got and the lighting changes…
@kaiser_franz @knees I've pushed FP4+ to EI 200 a couple of times. One roll I really liked, the other was a bit meh. The dev times go a bit long with pushing; MDC suggests HC-110 B at ~8 for 125, 12 for 200 and 16-18 for EI 400!
