I didn’t realize Facebook Marketplace had become a bargaining space by dumb idiots. I’m trying to sell a nib Xbox controller “special edition” for $50, (don’t mind letting it go for less than that).

“Would you go for $15?”

I expect some haggling, but even the lowball has a bar.

@michaelthec Truly a nightmare. I am hoarding a pile of things to sell "one day" when I work myself up to dealing with that haggling hellscape. It doesn't even seem worth the time for the prices people want to drive you down to. $15 is less than minimum wage so you better not make this take more than an hour, pal!!
@germ dude said he lived an hour and change from me and so I should drop the price 💀💀💀
@michaelthec @germ Lol how the fuck is that your fault?
@Lewie_Kong @germ exactly!!!
@michaelthec People's reasons are wild sometimes. I just couldn't imagine having brass balls to lowball people to be honest.
@michaelthec Selling anything these days is such a nightmare. I’ve been selling off music gear I don’t use lately and the amount of insane shit I receive in messages and offers borders on farcical. I don’t even bother replying to most of it
@garak I try to reply unless it sounds absolutely unhinged but then I get left on read? I don’t understand this stuff at all…
@michaelthec It’s like 99% tire kickers/flakes who just waste your time honestly. People are unhinged as the default these days
@michaelthec @garak it's almost as bad as Craigslist. I tried selling a queen size bed and some idiot would just ask questions over and over without committing to buy like... it's all in the ad dude?? did you try reading it. I was at my wits end so I replied harshly and he had the nerve to say my customer service sucks... I'M TRYING TO GET RID OF STUFF THIS ISN'T AN IKEA YOU DUMB SHIT
@michaelthec I have stuck a low tolerance for the crap you have to listen to that I give my old stuff that's not going to the charity shop to my ex and let him sell it and keep the money, just because he has more patience than me.
