So I was looking for a modular monitor desk stand with drawers. But all of them are expensive.
And I want drawers and monitor will be on arm.

So I'm gonna build one based on my needs.

First I got this wood shelf and black legs. Legs are 25cm tall and shelf is 30x120cm. Gonna fit nicely on 180x95 desk :)

The next step is to find a laptop stand and wireless charger that I can mount on this shelf.

The thing that will take me the most time is to find a drawer system that will fit nicely as I don't want to build them myself.

I have high hopes. And AliExpress is full of those.

Cost till now - around 110PLN/25EUR/30USD

Ah damn I bought too high legs. 25cm is way too high. I need 15cm

Gonna get them later.

And I ordered 2 aluminum drawers.
Each one is 149 PLN/35 EUR/40 USD.
So not super cheap and the cost of the project is piling up BUT it's gonna be 2 really well done drawers that are 41x27cm.

I tried to find a "desk mounted" laptop stand and wireless magnetic charger. And it's harder to find something that I can bolt to the shelf/desk.

So for the charger I'm gonna stick for now with my ikea wireless charger.

And for the laptop stand I found arm that will do even better as I will attach it to my desk instead of the shelf.

It's 216 PLN/58 USD /50 EUR

Oh and my charging setup will be done with help of power rail that will be screwed to the back of my desk.

Got it + spring cable so I can connect it to the power strip that will be mounted on desk leg as I want to use more standing desk.

I'm planning to automate the desk to move up for the meetings.

Time to write all of those things as this project is more than I thought.

But that's ultimate desk setup.

New top mounted.

Time to unpack the monitor and check if my arm will be able to handle it.

Oh and BTW this is what I'm planning to mount under the desk as the power supply.

Got a refund for them on AliExpress but for under desk mount I think it will be great.

And here we are. First things done.

Now I need to mount the rest. Get new arm as this one is barely handling new monitor.

The unexpected is that I am able to get 165Hz and I need to connect monitor over single USB-C cable.

And somehow my lamp that I had on my monitor stopped working 🤔
I'm gonna guess that it's because of batteries in the pilot but I am unable to find AAA batteries so it has to wait till tomorrow.
