@paperposts - I saw the same (Chennai, South India). Venus was parallel (and left of the moon)

amazing sight - my mobile phone pix is not great but it was a great sight

This evening

The tiny shiny dot top centre right is the moon.

Camera resolution is too bad to capture venus which is at 7 O'clock to the mooon

Along with the really cool sunset in the frame is a flock of cattle egrets.
