This bot posts random gifs from anywhere in star trek, and we all get to name the episode! The bot will say whether answers are right or wrong, until someone gets the correct answer and the puzzle is marked as solved.

There is a scoreboard for frequent players, and #startrekgifsstatus lists puzzles that are still unsolved after more than 12 hours.

A few more tidbits:

 the bot is very literal, so if you have an answer, make a post with only the title. Save any comments for a separate reply.

🖖 answer directly to the gif. It doesnt check followup replies (so we can chat without it shouting "wrong" every post 😂)

 there are some quirks about certain titles that it often mistakes for very similar titles. If you are not sure why it rejects an answer, try series + episode number instead.

(Its funny how the puzzles range from extremely obvious episodes, to "picard looks stoic on the bridge" or "the enterprise flies by"! 😂)

Oh, and if the clip is part of the opening credits, we can mark it as "intro". But you have to be on an allow list for that. (Easy to add you if you want)

Turning on notifications for the bot account is a good idea if you want to play. It's easy tho. just spit out the title if you know it.

Also it's fairly forgiving of typos, but finicky in other ways. You'll get the hang of it quickly. 🖖
