Last week I learned that sometimes a Linux bootloader (*cough* GRUB) won’t properly install because you have the ghosts of 6 or 7 distros cluttering your EFI boot list. So you have to leave chroot or make your way back to a console, as applicable, then prune the heck out of things with efibootmgr. After which you re-chroot or resume the install and everything is beautiful.
