Then they go HARD into “I’m a cis man” land, trying to prove to themselves how normal and “not one of them although they have every right to be whatever they are I’m just not one of them” they are.

And while they are swirling in their own self-hatred and internalized transphobia, like everything they post is “But I’m not one of them!”

So you just mute or unfollow them.

And one day you see them with a Jigglypuff PFP posting pictures of Sailor Moon with “I just want to look like this.”

@FinalGirl on one of my last big trips I found myself talking to a friend of a friend why it is a shame men's clothing is so boring and honestly tights are much more practical for what we are doing right now (hiking across snow in bright sun) just a shame that.......

Flash forward a year and I'm talking to a friend who had just came out as trans about about if it was normal to "daydream about being the other gender" and commenting that I had definitely done that quite a bit as a cis guy.....

.......the estrogen is going pretty good tbh.

That had been the moment, of feeling the lie in my mouth of describing myself as a cis guy.

@FinalGirl @rachel I was so determined to stay in the closet. When cis started becoming a common term, I remember arguing that it wasn’t accurate because “I was neither cis nor trans”. The shit our brains do to try to justify our status-quo is really amazing.
