I just googled something and Google put its AI summary top, which incorrectly used a Facebook post - misinterpreting it. The Facebook post itself was an AI summary of a user post - which AI had also misinterpreted. The result is the Google answer was just total bollocks.

10/10 no notes.

@GossiTheDog Indeed. Why I pay for Kagi now because sweet Jesus the results are crap in addition to the AI summaries.
@sraars @GossiTheDog Isn't Kagi all in on AI too?

@engideer @sraars @GossiTheDog

No! You can turn all AI features off in Kagi, and even if you do ask for an AI summary it must be a deliberate action.

Plus their AI responses are heavily referenced with links to sources so you can verify. It's a very different (and refreshing) experience from Google.

@ralfmaximus @sraars @GossiTheDog Interesting. I might have to check them out :)

@ralfmaximus @sraars @GossiTheDog Oh my god ew, I regret checking it out. Looks like it's an AI firm that decided to rebrand as a search engine, ran by a right wing tech bro 🤢

There's a good article here with tons of sources https://d-shoot.net/kagi.html

But this tweet here by the CEO was already all I needed to see tbh https://x.com/vladquant/status/1647017761569402882

Love him bragging that his AI marks the most milquetoast possible criticism of a literal Neonazi as bad journalism, because the article paints bigotry in a bad light. Amazing stuff.
