πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί Unity is our greatest strength.

EU Leaders met in Brussels yesterday and tackled some of the biggest challenges shaping our future:

⚑ Action to lower energy prices and boost energy independence
🌍 Calls for de-escalation in the Middle East
πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ Continued support for Ukraine
πŸ“ˆ A new β€˜One Europe, One Market’ agenda to strengthen competitiveness πŸ›‘οΈ Stronger defence readiness and security across Europe
🌐 Commitment to multilateralism and international law

@EUCommission, why have you written "support for Ukraine" but "de-escalation in the Middle East"? πŸ€”

We want #peace! Lets de-escalate wars both in Ukraine and south-east Asia, and escalate peaceful co-living.

@kubofhromoslav @EUCommission Unortunately, the only de-escalation regarding Ukraine would be giving Ukraine to Russia and that isn't something we want.

So unless Putin & Russian oligarchs will begin to care for the world (spoiler: they won't) there isn't a way to de-escalate Russian aggression.

@The_Universality @EUCommission, well, it is one thing to say that EC is "supporting Ukraine" and other that it is "supporting peace". Giving Ukraine to Russia is possible but not the only one way to de-escalation.

Unfortunately, when it comes to Ukraine I hear from EU about peace hardly enough...

@kubofhromoslav @EUCommission Well the issue is exactly that peace is unachievable from EU initiative. Ukraine certainly doesn't want to be in war, but Russia (its government) does.

Most of us want peace, but it unfortunately seems that can be achieved only if Ukraine would defend its land. Putin clearly stated his intentions multiple times after all.
Hence why "continued support" instead of "de-escalation".

*To add to my point, Russia managed to break ceasefire within 30 minutes once.*
