Today in #GuildWars I helped one of the newcomers with a mission. He's new to GW but has a lot of experience and baggage from other MMOs. So this was also a good opportunity for me to try and help him learn about how to think about the game and overarching objectives and whatnot.

Super satisfying and not only I've shown him the delight of a new skill for himself, I've coaxed him into unlocking a really powerful and useful skill for his NPC allies. He got a whole Water Trident as a treat

@VileLasagna This was one of my best GW2 experiences as well, guiding new players to understanding the group bosses, platforming challenges, or map event flow. I often was RPing in character too (my character was a Charr commander pun name so I just rolled with it IC even before we became expansion plotline titles.)

Helped a lot of players fall in love with the community events, and got to see the quests second hand through fresh eyes again. One of the best things about GW games, in my opinion!

@darkgriffin The social aspect is always super fun.

Shame I really didn't get into GW2 tho. Felt to me like they took every single thing that made GW special, ripped it out and put a bunch of pointless grind in place. Urgh
