I quit Google Docs and switched to CryptPad last year but I gotta say, sometimes it's not easy.

I am willing to put up with rough edges and weird issues like taking over 30 seconds for a page to load and render, but I can see how normies would just stick with Google's offerings.

I will not go back to Google because fuck those fuckers, but as we've learned I have a high tolerance for pain.

@rasterweb I've found a lot of rough edges with pCloud as well after leaving gdrive...I agree that most people wouldn't put up with photos failing to backup and other issues... alternatives are great but they just aren't as polished.
@rasterweb there is collabora online which works pretty good in my opinion. But you need some type of platform around it like nextcloud or opencloud.
@sam01 So is the Nextcloud suite just using Collabora as the solution?
@rasterweb yes. When you open the document, it sends the document to a temporary collabora sandbox.
@rasterweb you can test a nextcloud instance with collabora here: https://adminforge.de/services/mynextcloud/
