it's feels so weird when people ask me whether they can sit next to me in the metro, like clearly they have never been in a city or?? ma'am if it's interactive and publicly accessible why would anyone give a shit if you use it

my parents were also always super ashamed of any even slightly noticeable behavior out in public and now i'm the antithesis and just do whatever i want as long as it doesn't bother anyone

i have zero shame talking to strangers, neither am i ashamed of walking into random industrial sites for interesting conversations with professionals or climbing onto rooftops. and imo people who dont are probably missing out
