I don't understand the current fuel crisis. In 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine, fuel prices spiked. We all realised just how dependent we are on single use fossil fuels imported from far away lands. Understanding this vulnerability, we've used the time since to do a massive roll out of solar and wind. With tens of GW of wind for every nation bordering the north sea...

We've rolled out lots of electrically powered public transport. And heavily subsidised heat pumps for home heating.

Right?

We know every single step we need to take to completely divest ourselves of fossil fuels. And We've known for years. What's more, We've had a wake up call about our dependency on single use fossil fuels. In 2022. And 2008. And 1991. And 1979. And 1973...

So in 2026, we've already learnt our lesson right? We don't need to worry about supplies of imported single use fossil fuels right?

Hello? *Tap* *tap* is this thing on?

@quixoticgeek It almost feels like letting people who are owned and controlled by oil execs and big businesses rule over us all doesn't actually result in the best decisions for anyone but oil execs and big businesses. Or something. I don't know. I'm just spitballing here.
@quixoticgeek #lobby #corruption what do you think lobbyists of car industry and chemical industry and #bigmoney are paying the (EU) parliament for? certainly not innovation or a change.
