@nivrig How does that work on a core 2 solo 🤣
@arnan @nivrig afaik there is only one Mac with a Core Solo and it isn’t that one
@amselbock @nivrig then its a core2duo, still slow as hell for modern os’s 🤣 how is it performing?
@arnan @amselbock It’s a little slow, maybe, but entirely usable. I’ve been on YouTube, Twitch, ripping and playing CDs … general stuff. You’ve got two cores so maybe you can’t do a lot of things at once, and it would suck for modern games and encoding video probably. But for everyday use it’d be fine. I should try some 2000s games on it perhaps.
@nivrig @amselbock yeah a browser pc would be fine i imagine 😉
@arnan At half speed? 🤷🏻‍♂️😁

@nivrig I love the OG MacBooks. Always wanted one when I was a student but always chickened out the last minute because I was afraid that the software I needed wouldn’t run on it and they cost more than comparable Windows laptops.

So in the end I went for a cheap Thinkpad Edge E 320 because on paper it had better specs. Threw that thing away maybe 5 years later because the WiFi was constantly failing and then the screen died.

Should’ve saved up for the Mac.
