It's hard to know when to let a beloved social media network die (for you, not for everyone). Like, Peach has been down for a few days and people are migrating and talking about building alternatives, and I am slowly making my peace with the fact that maybe my Peach time has come to an end
Twitter was harder because it involved a much more considerable emotional and social and professional investment, and easier because the ownership, stability, and community transformations were so drastic. I still peek in there and maintain my profile but don't post.
Substack can die in a fire.
(They know what they did)
@tcarmody.bsky.social As Peach user, I’m feeling the same way. I figured it would end someday and that going out with a whimper rather than a bang was a distinct possibility. But now that this is likely what is happening makes me sad and disappointed.
