@ned (That's a specific reference to the language in section 1 of the Charter, which says that all rights are subject to reasonable limits that can be justified in a free & democratic society. By definition, then, the notwithstanding clause is only necessary when infringements on rights are unreasonable or cannot be justified in that way. But yeah, it's nice to hear her acknowledge it, even if I know that she & her supporters won't really hear what she's said.)
@AmeliasBrain Yeah, she's explaining WHY she needs the notwithstanding clause, and that in itself is damning. It should never be invoked.
