Pro tip: If you accidentally bend your processor pins please don't just smush it back into the socket and hope for the best because it makes it much trickier to straighten out again when they're like this 😬

i accidentally dropped the cpu onto the socket (it slipped out of my hand) a few years back (when the socket had the pins) and bend around ten of them
had to carefully bend them back using a monokel and hope that i don't bend them too much so they wouln't break off

yeah, it took me around an hour to fix them
and then, of course i had to reaply paste and cooler and hope it works
thankfully it did
would have been a real bummer to remove everything again

@Ember @s0 true! AMD are still making the things and released an other processor not too long ago on it.
Intel are at it too though, they're still putting out new 1700 socket processors. Weird times right?
