Random shoutout to Stowarzyszenie Miłość Nie Wyklucza, they paid the court fees for my legal transition and helped me a ton with the paperwork a few years ago. Good organization to donate to if you can spare it.

@lunareclipse what does court fees mean? surely you don't have to go to court to transition? I presume you mean gender...
@NotThatDeep legal gender marker change yes.

Back when I did it you had to sue your parents. Now it seems that parents have finally been excluded from the process but you still have to
go through a court. Depends on the judge if they will just approve it or call you for a hearing or prolong it by requiring additional expert testimony (which would mean you have to talk to some random court appointed doctor).

@lunareclipse what on earth, I can't understand how anyone would think a court appropriate. maybe it's just because my mind equates courts with "trial" and "criminal"!
@NotThatDeep well there are different kinds of courts and this wasn't the criminal one.

this was only decided appropriate because they removed the laws that let you do it in a normal way but the courts decided that actually there needs to be a way IIRC.
@lunareclipse @NotThatDeep Hey! I just saw Kobieta z... and I was like "WTF she had to sue her parents to change her gender, wow the 90' in Poland were rough". And you tell me it's still somewhat the case?
@pinkberet @NotThatDeep afaik it used to be a formality then they made it a clusterfuck and now they improved it somewhat again
@NotThatDeep @lunareclipse you do, it's the only way to do it in poland (fae went to the court too to get legal gender change)
@sugar @lunareclipse consider me atonished!
