@prietschka Kinda sounds like doofuses told investors they'd be getting payroll-level payouts for all the devs they replaced and now that that's not happening they're scrambling to make the narrative "actually now you gotta spend double your devs' salary"

CEO: "Replace all your employees for the low cost of a $200/mo. Claude subscription!"

Company accountant: "Actually, Mr Amodei/Huang/Altman, our stats show average devs consuming $10K+/mo. in compute on $200/mo. plans."

CEO: "It's totally normal to spend $120K/year on compute costs for a single dev! Totally normal! You're weird/unproductive/going to be left behind if you don't spend at least $120k/year!"
