The dragons are smart indeed. It’s so rare to see bad guys bum rush the protagonist all at once instead of challenging the protag - and losing - one by one. The only other instance I can think of off the top of my head is

non-anime title

Matrix with the Smiths vs Neo fight.

It sucks that they off-screened the end of the dragon fight, but comedic moments in the second half of the episode made up for it.

…bruh. Anyone can tell that you are the elven mage from the way you talk.

Banner nomination: best pose from Himmel so far

I think this was my favorite episode so far. It had a little bit of everything. A little bit of chill out, a little bit of action ans a little bit of comedy!

Oh my God… this is so damn sweet!

Art direction in this episode was absolutely fenomenal but this compass-like spell was so well done it really deserves special mention.

Seeing world from the Himmel’s perspective was so nice! I think I’m not exaggerating if I say it was definitely the best 10 years of his life.

Also a photo made a moment before disaster:

I feel like even for Frieren this could be the best 10 years of her life…

Oh no, Stark got Himmel virus!

I appreciate the hand-drawn non-CG dragons.

Stark doing Eisen’s hand stand exercises.

The flashbacks to Himmel always make me cry a little and this was no exception. Beautiful episode. Also what the hell is Stark made of? How did he survive that fight?

He’s wearing the best armour of all time: plot armour

My favourite type of Frieren episodes that focuses on the journey, reminiscing, Himmel’s life lessons, a sprinkle of humour and action here and there, and beautiful scenery. Truly wonderful.

That tracking spell with mana oozing from the wall and turning into a circle and the barrier spell popping like a bubble looked fantastic.

Both POV sequences were good, though Himmel’s wins by having Eisen and Heiter running along the shore.

The hints leading to the next big arc were also there. How I wish they released this season with 20+ episodes again; I wouldn’t mind waiting longer.

This is what I’ve been missing this season. Finally, this felt like a Frieren episode.
