I really hate grading. I enjoy advising students, seeing them progress, and reading their work, but I would much rather give them extensive feedback and encourage them to revise their work than hand out grades. Right now, I have a case of a student who's clearly put in a lot of time and effort in a project, did some things really well, but also completely missed the mark on other aspects of the assignment and well... how do I grade that?!

@ElenLeFoll I would first ask myself, aside from what your administration says, what’s your goal?
@ericsedge Oh I know what my goals are, but I am struggling to align them with the constraints of our university’s module handbooks and the rules of the examination office…
@ElenLeFoll I understand. It’s not unlike the issues I face managing employees. Intent, attitude, and effort conflated with results. Mix in a healthy dose of external variables and it’s a mess.
