Started my day by deleting all my emails, forgetting to check to see if clearing them from the server would leave the downloaded messages intact.

It did not.

Now I have to wrestle with Time Machine, which makes my head hurt.

30K email messages importing from Time Machine. I gotta clean that stuff up 😬

Well, that's a big NOPE. I only got a partial email restore from Time Machine.

Apparently I missed a setting somewhere when I moved to a new host. I don't have any emails available after 2020.

Off to the knowledge base...

Today is pretty much a How Can I Be So Stupid day.

Answer: Easy.

So this is fun: If your email connects with IMAP instead of POP, it might automatically sync with your mail server (not sure if this applies across email apps and I'm not taking the time to find out and no, do not reply with a list of those that do and don't. I don't care.)

If this is the case and you restore your accidentally deleted emails through something like Time Machine, you can watch while your restored messages magically disappear.

BIG. FUN.

Tech support at the locally-owned service provider should be able to retrieve everything on their end. Hopefully.

@StaceyCornelius Bluuuccch. I'm sorry. Here. Have some gorgeous cupcakes.
