The best part of the whole "crooked cops lose their defamation suit against Afroman" thing is that they were essentially suing him for damage to their reputation in their *community*, & by doing so managed to alert a *very* large number of people, like, definitely over a million, to these clowns & their shit-ass behavior.

Afroman said it in the trial: They didn't have to raid his home, break his shit, & get caught on security camera. This is all their choices coming back on them.

It was on The Daily Show last night. These fucking small time criminal cops are getting ridiculed nationally now.

Why? Because they are creeps & criminals who thought that OF COURSE they could harass this Black man in their community with no consequences, & then they sued HIS ass.

The fact that I know the name of at least one Adams County sheriff's deputy is kind of ridiculous. They've got less than 30,000 people in the whole county.

And yet I know that Randy Walters is a son of a bitch.

The general public is coming back around to the understanding that cops are greedy buffoons.

Nature is healing.

I know some of y'all have been ridiculing cops your entire lives, & you should be proud.

But it's going to be a glorious day when we *all* start ridiculing cops again.

#ACAB

Copaganda don't hit like it used to.
(also, no, seriously, I do envy those of y'all who have been making fun of these bastards since childhood. It's the only way to live.)
@artemis Eh, less envyable when you know *why* I was ridiculing them basically my entire life, tbh?
@artemis (My grandfather was a local pig - and general shitty person - so a lot of it was from dealing with him, occasionally his cop friends, and having a bit of a view into the cop perspective of their bullshit.
Which absolutely makes it worse, and very clear how fucked an institution it is.)

@miss_rodent
I debated whether to include that disclaimer.

In a way, yes, in that the reason for most people that they never respected cops is abuse they & those they know received (or witnessed), & please don't think I am stating that I envy that. That would be dismissive & just...shitty?

But every day I am more & more unhappy about the fact that blinding privilege had me clownishly deferring to these fools for so long. Gross.

Please let me know if you do feel I'm speaking dismissively.

@artemis Nah, I didn't parse it as dismissive, and definitely get your point there.
It's just kind of a double-edged thing on either side o it; privilege blinding people to stuff around them has it's own downsides and problems,
but with how much propaganda there is, seeing through it often means coming from a position where you've had to.
Personally I'd rather my side of it than being blind to it, too, but, shit's kind of a mess.
@artemis Oh yeah. If not for the lawsuit, they would have been ridiculed only among his current fans. By escalating, they poked the bear, and the bear has got national attention. You know by now Lemon Pound Cake is a nickname catching on in lots of places. Every PD has at least one guy like that guy.
@springdiesel
I didn't even think of the glorious fact that Lemon Pound Cake could catch on! Because yes, we all have met that cop.
@artemis "And what are YOU gonna do about it, Officer Lemon Pound Cake?!?!"

@springdiesel @artemis

I already know who's getting that one, next time I see him.

@artemis as always, they absolutely fucked it every step of the way. because they know the chances of ever being held responsible are vanishingly small. i remember when it originally happened, he was way cooler than i can imagine anyone else being.

all he wanted was an apology and the department to pay for what they broke. that was it. the same department refused to investigate a burglary at the same home a month prior, threatening Afroman with arrest if he didn't stop asking about it.

@artemis so he released three songs about it when they refused to pay for the damage or apologize. so they decided to sue him and he made an entire (and actually pretty slammin) album about it.

then won in court, too.

heart of a poster

@dank
Yeah, as funny as his response has been, he's clearly not a particularly reactive or vindictive person. Some people just wanna live their lives.

They should have fucking left the guy alone.

@artemis Right. It's like a 3 dimensional Streisand effect.
@artemis Local PDs are where bullies go to THRIVE. Some of the most blatant thieves and degenerates I knew growing became cops.

@artemis People like to say, “It’s so good they turned their lives around…”

Bullshit. They just got protection.

@FeloniousPunk
1000% agree with this, I had a couple of real dick head bullies growing up. Yep they are both cops now, and shocking to hear this I know, but both have had abuse of power and police misconduct complaints one multiple times and beats his wife. At least per public record.

Sad sad little men.
@artemis
