⚡ Do you really know what Tech Sovereignty means?

🌫️ 😶‍🌫️ Over the past months, I've heard everyone talk about this concept, which is somewhat blurry.

Some are trying to replicate the US models in Europe, while others are willing to develop our own infrastructures with our democratic values, based on ✨ underrated concepts of the respect of the privacy of individuals, transparency, accountability and sustainability ✨

@infini

📬 Recently, I've discovered that some of us have been doing that for more than 30 years already!

🕯️ In Brest (France), there is an organisation named @infini and for the last 30 years, they have offered value-based alternatives to what we know now as being the 'digital norms': extractive web, addictive platforms, and lack of privacy.

@CMFrancoise lol literally today I said the same "we've been doing tech sovereignty since the 90s" which I struggled to write because I didn't want to write an entire book about how much alignment there is with open source values: https://www.laurahilliger.com/fbt/fbt-on-sovereignty-and-stacks/
