the most successful member of my family had a nice house with a very 90s grandparent dark pastel curtained child's room with a doll case, legos, and a small tv we watched billy and mandy and Genndy Tartakovsky cartoons because we didn't have cable at home, and every time i've rented a house or airbnb or hotel, and mostly older folks homes with this kind of decor i see why little play is a thing, i had some very deep dollhouse experiences with my ex at a house we rented with a similar bedroom and i have half a mind to recreate and patent the scent with old house mold cultures, vintage air freshener, and Potpourri

@nyx i bring that up because of the lacey aesthetic continuum that kind of extinguished in popular culture by the early 2000s, you see it in some rural places and senior decor or trad larpers but they do not produce it for most big box stores the way they did at say Sears in the 90s
