$200B at ~$1B per day indicates that at least someone thinks this is a half year proposition, and not the short term thing Trump and Co continue to say it is.

Funny that the #ufa reminds me Spain in the 18th century.
Spain’s power gradually declined because of the costly wars it waged and an artificially prosperous economy due to the wealth drawn from the New World.
Spain loses its aura as an indestructible country, conqueror and policeman of the world. The economic consequence will be dramatic, trade with the Americas diverting towards English, German, Dutch or Flemish ports.

In Denver, they're asking travelers to bring gift cards to TSA agents for expenses while this DHS shutdown is on, but no one is asking the top 3% to pay an extra dime in taxes to afford an ill-gotten war or any spcial services.

But, like always, Dems will cave and give the GOP what they want.
