My period-accurate Tandy Color Computer 3 setup now has a Tandy CM-8 RGB Color Monitor!

This model was designed specifically for the CoCo3, utilizing its higher quality RGB signal and is the perfect pair for a complete Tandy setup. However, even back in the day, other monitors were preferred over it, such as the Magnavox 8CM515 and Commodore 1084, for their sharper picture and additional input signals. But, what's a retro setup without the quirks of the day?

It was shipped with the most inventive packaging I've seen, wrapped in brand new, sliced pool noodles:

@thalia

someone actually sent noods?

@thalia this is hilarious. S tier packaging.

@thalia

Hook that up to a packet radio TNC and have some fun.

@HopelessDemigod I'm afraid I'm not a radio ham, so I'm not sure what you mean, but it looks like that's used for RS-232 over radio, so this would become a dumb terminal? I've got several teleprinters and a VT220, so I've got that covered :).

@thalia

Yup a TNC is essentially a radio modem and stands for terminal node controller. Hopefully someday you will consider getting licensed. My first exposure to packet radio was with a COCO3 that friend had. I still have the TNC he used with it and it’s still on the air although connected to Linux Mint.
