Samrealizing that the guys from creative writing class don't realize that "security engineer" has little to do with physical security
Will Brien@0f4d0335 when i start work every morning i go around to all the computers and wiggle the mouse so the monitors come on and then i check that each screen is locked and i do that all shift and then i go home. security is hard work. sometimes i get to carry a degaussing gun though.
@willb haha. my company has more than ~75k users, so i can't really do this. but when i worked at a startup with 100 users, i did audit of hardware and software manually. i also maintained the physical security computer systems. once i had to rip off some equipment from the building. that was the closest i got to manual labor as a security engineer.
@0f4d0335 ahhhh the good old days when my only physical exercise involved racking servers and lifting floor tiles 💪 nowadays if it’s not in a terminal window, forget it
