Blåhaj Lemmy - Choose Your Interface

Kinda true, though.

As an author, I’ve gotten reams of hate mail about what I’ve done to my characters.

On one hand, sure, that’s kind of a good thing. It means readers are connecting with them. But some readers connect with them too much, and seem to have a dubious grip on reality vs. fiction. For example, I’ve been told I should be in prison for not preventing one of my characters from being raped, since it’s just as bad as doing the act myself. None of these are real people. They’re only letters on a page, okay?

It’s true.

I know plenty about minor characters on ‘Star Trek’ but can’t name any of my neighbors.

To be fair tho when your neighbor is called Krzygzÿgczkr and a Star Trek character is called Q this makes sense
There’s a Star Trek character just called ‘Q?’
Yes, and he can bend reality to his whim, so essentially a god.
Fun fact: In TNG he’s played by the same actor who also plays the ATC causing the pane crash in Breaking Bad
Fun fact: Q can take an omnipotent human form to mess with humans, and an omnipotent draconequus form to mess with ponies. Not just the same actor, but arguably a character so powerful he can hop fictional universes. But wherever he goes, he reluctantly finds friendship.
Woooosh!
I don’t get the joke
He was named after a Survivor contestant.
Australia putting people in prison for buying porn of fictional chatacters that look like underage people:
Sometimes when I’m with my mum I realise she’s been talking about the characters in Line Of Duty for the last ten minutes and not her friends from tennis.
I like the running joke in Brooklyn 99 that none of the characters can tell whether another character is talking about a dog or a wife.
This tweet would’ve been even better if it was from ~2014, because it was true even back then
all twitter-like networks induce my anxiety a lot. i quit mastodon and feel much better since
“As if they were real”? Rude 💀
