RFC 2462: IPv6 Stateless Address Autoconfiguration

@rfcs Despite all these standards, 28 years later.... your average network engineer is completely and utterly terrified of modern networking concepts.

good jorb! we all adopted #ipv6 so well!

@nuintari @rfcs our last IT manager was like "great, now I need to learn IPv6" when I told him we had customers demanding IPv6 support.

His replacement said "no plans" on the office network.

Since then our largest cellular network operator has issued a statement that IPv4 is a second class citizen from 1st July 2026. They have supported v6 since 2016, so it isn't exactly new.

We do IoT devices. Good thing I WFH and have a real network, or I'd be stuffed.

It's just crazy.
