I spent two days in #threads, the meta network, I came back to see how was there going. They even have now a kind of CW for "spoilers" but people use it for strong language and other things!

I have very strong opinions on the flaws of such social network, without mentioning the privacy and ethical issues of meta.

But there was something I really liked. People say: "dear algo I want to connect with people that ... or topics that ...", and the algorithm help people to onboard fast. Suddenly I was seeing people and posts related to such topics.

A small notification said it was a way to shape the algorithm that was going to last for 7 days, I don't expect to remain for that much of a time to try it, but kept me thinking how we can onboarding easily people into the #fediverse

My immediate idea would be a bot, that you can say "Dear @algo I want to ..." and the bot recommends accounts and hashtags to follow? idk

@mapache Threads one hashtag default is interesting.

When I see so many tags it feels like litter I suspect a spammer.

Judicious tagging is important to me on microblogs and yet on standard blogs I like around a dozen
