Stories like this are welcome. They certainly have a place. Yet I don’t think they should ever be the lead story on a serious news site.

I appreciate stories like this have always provided cheap, reliable filler for tabloids etc but the quality of content and even trustworthiness of our state broadcaster #RNZ has certainly deteriorated over the last few years.

Sad to see, I wonder if this is a result of funding cuts or editorial decisions.

@jeremy_pm From experience elsewhere I’d say the two are related, lower funds means cutting your editorial costs to fit.
