Tomorrow, 21 March 2026, is the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

We don't call it that in Australia, because John Howard was a racist cunt who spent the early part of his prime ministership stirring up anxiety about native title, and the later part ramping up our system of concentration camps following the arrival of the Tampa.

It was embarrassing to have a day to advocate for the elimination of racial discrimination when we were in a full-throated panic about Indigenous native title, so ol' mate John Howard changed its name to Harmony Day, which has what it's been called for the 27 years since.
