It is funny that the minor plot points in Project Hail Mary of, “we need to put all software ever made onboard,” and, “I am not a good programmer and need to make bad little scripts,” are already fundamentally out of date. I’m supposed to believe this is the near future? It’s like how a lot of pre-Internet sci-fi plot points could be solved by the existence of the Internet. I wonder if competence porn will go away.
