The selfish case for public libraries

I don't use libraries out of a sense of civic duty; I use them because they make me a happier, more adventurous, and more prolific reader.

@alex i love this and i agree! another thing that i love is the narrower selection/curation/availability part of it. in the physical space of the library, i see what's available and maybe on the "popular" shelf. or i stumble across something that i wouldn't have known about otherwise. i don't even have to spend that much time looking to pick up something fun for the week.
