My previous toot, sent at 4:57pm today, has done some numbers, currently standing at 424 boosts, 11 quotes and 600 favourites.

But what impact has that had on the traffic hitting my (now, self-hosted) mastodon instance?

@neil i /assume/ there will be some correlation between "follower count" and "traffic overall". You have roughly 10X the followers I do, and interestingly also about 10X the traffic!

@bloor Yes, that makes sense to me.

@neil @bloor I think it more specifically correlates with the number of distinct instances you have followers (and followers of followers etc, because boosts and quotes) on, since each instance would presumably only fetch the toot once and cache it
