REALLY seems like, in a country where SCOTUS wasn't utterly bought and paid for, 4A-circumvention via purchase would be as forbidden as direct 4A-circumvention.
@arstechnica OK, so, when is it that the FBI buys people's trash? If the gov't can buy its way out of our constitutional rights, what else can it do to guarantee future violations? Put our speech up for auction, and whoever loses the bidding war gets imprisoned for bad speech? This is on another level of excuse-making.
