I'm really liking MacDown 3000 for editing and viewing Markdown files on macOS. Especially the ability to customize the style sheets.

MacDown 3000
@rasterweb What's the difference between MacDown and MacDown 3000?

@joe @rasterweb “MacDown 3000 is essentially MacDown Continued. The focus is on maintaining a regular release cadence, emphasizing stability, bug fixes, and support for modern Markdown styling. It supports macOS 11.0 (Big Sur) and later, on both Apple Silicon and Intel.

This project honors the original intentions and contributions of both Mou and MacDown while ensuring that this valuable tool remains available and actively maintained for today's Mac users.”

@cmdrmoto @joe I actually did not know of the original MacDown! (Now I do. 😀 )

@rasterweb @joe Whereas I hadn’t needed a markdown editor for so long I hadn’t heard of MacDown 3000. I did, however, note when the software transitioned from Mou to MacDown.

It’s always pleasant to see when an old friendly project has picked up new maintainer life.

@rasterweb @cmdrmoto It's been my go to Markdown editor for over a decade. The only downside in recent years has been that the binary isn't signed and recent versions of MacOS really don't like that.
@joe @cmdrmoto Try the 3000 version!

@rasterweb @cmdrmoto I'm half-tempted to fork it and create 3001 ... but then I would have to be the one to pay the $99/yr Apple tax. 😜

... and presumably learn objective c?
