RememberTheApollo_TBF it seems most of her history in the US was in entertainment and wearing a skirt made of fake bananas. Not really required learning. Her real activity seems to have taken place in France working with the French Resistance and civil rights, and unfortunately her civil rights work here was overshadowed by MLK.
Now if you can figure out why a great American’s work MOSTLY happened in France, you might actually understand why you didn’t learn about her in school.

Reminds me an old story.
Two monks live on opposite sides of a lake.
