Millions without electricity as Cuba's power grid collapses
Millions without electricity as Cuba's power grid collapses
Perhaps you should take your own advice.
You are correct. Its stupid to compare a government that has been in a chokehold by a super power for 60 years with other ‘successful’ nations.
But your only argument is “well their breadlines suck worst than ours so they are failures”
I dont need to believe anything. Facts are simple. The US has the strongest trade embargos and threatens any other country that tries to trade with cuba. The UN regularly votes against them calling out the human rights violations and you can take two guesses who votes to maintain them… the US and Israel.
Yeah the government will likely fall because the US has managed to strangle the country into submission.
, you can literally import from the united states to Cuba if you have a business.
Only limited things such as agricultural and medical commodities.
and cuba do business with a lot of countries what the fuck are you talking about
“The U.S. government has pursued extraterritorial measures to enforce its embargo. Cuban ambassador Ricardo Alarcón cited 27 recent cases of trade contracts interrupted by U.S. pressure to the U.N. in 1991. British Petroleum was seemingly dissuaded by U.S. authorities from investing in offshore oil exploration in Cuba despite initially expressing interest. In 1992, the U.S. State Department discouraged firms like Royal Dutch Shell and Clyde Petroleum from investing in Cuba.” – source
"A year into his second term, Trump signed an executive order declaring that Cuba “constitutes an unusual and extraordinary threat” to U.S. national security, citing its ties to hostile actors like Russia. It also authorized tariffs on goods from third countries that sell or provide oil to the island—a move Cuban leaders warned would further strain the country’s economy. "
“The White House further targeted Cuba’s finances by allowing U.S. nationals to sue entities that traffic in or benefit from property confiscated by the Cuban regime—a provision of the Helms-Burton Act that past U.S. presidents had routinely waived. Canada and the European Union, both major foreign investors in Cuba, pledged to protect their companies by fighting the decision through the World Trade Organization.” Source
I never made the claims the cuban government was a saint. I’m sure just like every government, corruption and oppression occurs. But the US has done everything within their power to undermine their soverignity, even once attempted to invade the country.
