Charlie O’HaraKLM have definitely become the Rules airline. No usage of power banks. No photography on board. No drinking of alcohol not supplied by KLM. No charging your phone from the seat while taxiing. All on top of the normal stuff.
So very reassuring.
In another country, transferring to a third country, I feel someone brushing my back in a queue. I turn around and hiss “Abstand bitte!” because of course the person behind me is German.
I’d taken my bag off to retrieve a water bottle. In the 10 seconds that elapsed she had somehow gotten to within microns of my back.
All is forgive as I’m in a location with MOUNTAINS. And OCEAN. ❤️
4am at a Spanish airport (a hastily arranged flight triggered by yesterday’s Berlin airport strike). I’m studying and respecting an old man, who is resplendent in a giant hat and enjoying a monumental glass of brandy.
I now have 11 hours of travelling as I’m bounced around Europe to get home. I shall document my findings.
This entire flight was full of Canadians. I fell asleep to the gentle lulling of “gee” and “sorry”.
*This* flight is full of people wearing Disney merch. Several Goofy hats are in my eyeline.
I am ashamed that several Disney Adults were queer coded.
*My* queer people don’t do soft toys and cringe.
After 12 hours I’m finally boarding the last flight of my journey home.
I always delight in watching those folks who try to sneak past the gate boarding groups get publicly turned away. Absolute bloody schadenfreude.
I acknowledge that I’m quite the authoritarian in many ways.
Also got to see someone role-playing the wife from Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. She actually screamed when the electronic gates wouldn’t work for her. Shouting “go on love, try it a fifth time” probably didn’t help.
Same woman tried to get her luggage out of the overhead compartment while were taxiing to the gate and got shouted at lol
The young normcore man next to me is asking ChatGPT what the dress code is for Berghain. This is where the world is at and I’ll be honest I want to follow him all the way there to see what happens.
Anyway, after 13 hours I’m on the bus home. Hurrah.
Could have flown to Vancouver in this time.
