Installing #FreeBSD 15.0 on my 4th Beelink S12 Pro as my latest addition to my home-lab FreeBSD cluster! This time using the #JetKVM, an excellent KVM over IP solution. You can mount a virtual media via http, i did it here for the installation ISO :-) https://jetkvm.com/
@snonux
May i ask what the new server will run? (Services) 🙂
@jhx the first 3 run a kubernetes cluster (via linux bhyve VMs), for self-hosting my apps. the 4th will be running a freebsd bhyve VM for agentic coding isolation, so that the AI doesnt make my laptop kaputt! i am experimenting a lot with AI. i know it is a bit of hype, but i think the truth is somewhere in the middle (mentioning this here since here on Mastadon are many AI rejectors, and I don't want to make them angry : with my comments :-) :)

@snonux
Cool setup for sure - never fiddled with Kubernetes so far 🙂 (I gotta start sometime)

No worries about AI. It can, imho, help a lot. I have a Claude Pro subscription from wotk that I can also use at home. I use it for finding problems and giving suggestions. I never ever copy past code from it withouth checking. I think one can use AI like a tool to produce better code
I however am not a fan at all of so called vibe coding - that is just.... you know
imho everyone leveraging AI in the programming sector _SHOULD_ know how to code first.

@jhx In terms of self-hosted apps in the kubernetes cluster: Wallabag, Miniflux, Immich, Jellyfin, Navidrome, Filebrowser, ... there are some more I just forgot...
@snonux
Gotta try Immich and Filebrowser 🙂 (So, thanks for the hint 😎 )
